The book I read is “Dinosaurs Before Dark” written by Mary Pope Osborne.
The main characters are Morgan, Annie and Jack. Jack likes to take notes and he is careful. Annie likes animals and she isn’t as careful as Jack. Morgan is a magical librarian from Camelot and Jack and Annie do stuff in the books for Morgan to put in her library.
This is the first book in the series. Annie discovered a rope ladder and showed it to Jack. This is when they discovered the treehouse. Annie went into the treehouse, but Jack called her to come down. Annie hollered that there were books in the treehouse. Jack loved books and he went into the treehouse. Since Jack liked dinosaurs Annie gave him a dinosaur book to read. When he was looking at the Pteranodon( ter-AN-oh-don) picture he said, “Oh, I wish I could see a real Pteranodon!” Then a Pteranodon came flying by and it looked like a glider plane. The treehouse started to spin and Jack was leaning out of the window. Annie told Jack to get inside the treehouse and pulled him out of the window. The treehouse was spinning and then all of a sudden it was still.
Jack looked out the window and realized the world outside was just like the book he was holding.
Annie ran to explore and although Jack was afraid he went after her. After exploring they decided they needed to get back to Pennsylvania.
When they got back to the treehouse Jack discovered that he forgot the book on the hill and went back to get it. Annie stayed back and waited for him since it wasn’t that far. A T-Rex was by the book and Jack hid behind a tree. Annie saw this from inside the treehouse and she went down and talked to the Pteranodon asking it to go help Jack. And that’s exactly what the Pteranodon did. It went and brought Jack and the book back, but the T-Rex was chasing it. Jack and Annie got back in the treehouse and Jack said he wanted to go back to Pennsylvania. Annie realized he didn’t have the book in his hand like he did when they came, so they got the book and Jack said “I want to be back in Pennsylvania.” The tree started spinning just before the T-Rex got to them and they were safely back home.
