This a book review on Earthquake in the Early Morning. This is 24th book in the series.
The main characters are Jack and Annie and Morgan. Jack likes to take notes and he is careful. Annie can talk to animals and isn’t as careful as Jack. Morgan is a magical librarian from Camelot. In this one Jack and Annie go to Morgan’s library in Camelot. Betty is a newspaper reporter and Fred is a photographer. Aunt Mary, Andrew and Peter are people that Jack and Annie met on the way to Golden Gate Park, their house had caught on fire.
In a previous Magic Tree House book Morgan left a note that Jack and Annie need to find “something to lend,” but they didn’t know what that meant.
Jack and Annie go to San Francisco in this book. They are in the earthquake of 1906. After a little earthquake Annie fell down a hole. Jack got her back up by giving her bricks. After the big earthquake there was a fire. During the fire Jack and Annie met Aunt Mary, Andrew and Peter. They were told by Betty, the reporter, to go to Golden Gate Park because their house caught on fire. Jack and Annie noticed that the boys didn’t have any shoes, so they lent their boots to the boys. The boys lent them a piece of wood that said, “There is no water and still less soap. We have no city, but lots of hope.” Jack and Annie realized that this was the special writing that they needed to get for Morgan’s library, the “something to lend.”
At the end when Annie looks in the book about the San Francisco fire Annie sees a picture of them on the way back to the Magic Tree House that Fred took.
I loved this story because I like the part where they see the picture of them in the book and the story is really funny.
